What is IONS?
The Institute of Noetic Sciences was founded by Astronaut Edgar Mitchell in 1973 with a mission of supporting individual and collective transformation through consciousness research and engaging a global learning community.
What is an IONS community group?
This is a community of like minded but diverse and engaged people, creating a safe place to explore the connections between scientific research, consciousness, spirituality and direct experience through the use of respectful dialogue. These self-organizing groups meet across the U.S. and in over 20 foreign countries.
Topics of interest include: worldviews and the role of beliefs, new research in biology and physics, perspectives on death and dying, psi research, mind/matter interaction, entheogens and spiritual transformation, meditation, altered states, homeopathy, energy healing, etc.
We meet one Monday every month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Aspen Chapel.
(Guests are always welcome!)

"We each must become like fishermen, and go out onto the dark ocean of
mind, and let your nets down into that sea. And what you are after
is not some behemoth that will tear through your nets, foul them, and drag
you and your little boat into the abyss. Nor are we looking for a bunch of
sardines, that can slip through your net and disappear. What we are
looking for are middle-sized ideas that we can wrestle into our boat
and take back to the folks on shore, and have fish dinner. You are an
explorer and you represent our species. The greatest good you can do
is to bring back a new idea, because our world is endangered by the
absence of good ideas. Our world is in a crisis because of the absence
of consciousness." Terence McKenna
